Pull Apart Bacon and Cheddar Bread

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Servings: 5-7

  • 1 loaf of any dense bread, like sourdough
  • 1 cup of bacon
  • 200 grams of Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of herbes de Provence
  • 1/3 cup of melted butter
  • 1/3 cup of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of scallions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together garlic, melted butter, olive oil, and herbes de Provence. Mix well.
  2. Cut the bread on a diagonal to make even pieces, but do not cut the bread all the way through.
  3. Cover the bread with the garlic mixture using a brush. Stuff with cheddar cheese and bacon. Top with chives and brush again with the garlic butter.
  4. Cover the bread completely in aluminum foil and bake at 375F/ 190C for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Serve hot.

Do not cut the bread all the way through or else it will fall apart.

Covering the bread in aluminum foil helps trap the heat to melt the cheese without burning the bread.
